7 Spreads to Consider For Your April Bullet Journal
Spring has sprung and it’s time to prepare our bullet journals for the coming month! As some of you may know by now, my life changed for the better once I started bullet journaling. It has increased my productivity and helps me let my creativity loose when I’m not in the mood to use other outlets. I’ve already prepared my spreads through the end of April, but I figured there were plenty of people out there who haven’t yet. Here’s a little April bujo inspo to get those creative vibes flowing.

1. Fluttering butterflies
Butterflies make the perfect spread accents for the beginning of spring… and who doesn’t love an inspirational quote with a double-paged title spread?! If you want to make your own monarch-inspired bujo spread for April, try using colors from the Tombow dual-tip brush pen “bright” palette.
2. “April showers bring May flowers”
I just love the quote “April showers bring May flowers” because it’s so true. As a home gardener, I find myself doodling those words in my April spreads every year. This example can easily be replicated by using the blues and the green from the Tombow dual-tip brush pen “pastelle” pallet.
3. Pretty pastels
This Easter-inspired minimalist monthly spread is perfect if you’re not sure which theme you want to go with for April. If you don’t have these Tombow colors and can’t get to your local craft store, most of them are included in the dual-tip brush pen “pastelle” palette.
4. Quarantine-inspired
If you’re like me and currently under mandatory shelter-in-place quarantine, this is a perfect monthly title page to doodle in order to release some tension. To replicate the office with highlights and lowlights seen in the example above, I’d suggest using Crayola Supertip markers instead of Tombows. These markers also don’t bleed through, so you can layer them freely without worrying if your pages are too thin.
5. Honeycomb
Here’s another awesome double-paged title spread! Honeycombs and bees are more of a “summer thing” to me, but it’s super well done regardless. I love the use of dashed trails to fill up the negative space between each honeycomb. To replicate this monthly spread, I’d suggest using colored pencils and MICRON fineliner pens. If you don’t have any on hand and you’re looking for something affordable, Staedler colored pencils are a good starter choice.
6. Bubble letters
I love the cute little animal sticker accents on this title page. It’s minimalistic, yet colorful. You can make this cute spread easily using these Zebra Pen mildliners and adding some washi tape.
7. Spring colors
There’s nothing like a giant bouquet of spring blooms or wildflower border to represent the month of April. This month signifies the beginning of the gardening season in most areas, so the above example is great inspiration for a floral monthly spread! If you don’t have these Tombow colors and can’t get to your local craft store, they’re mostly included in the dual-tip brush pen “tropical” palette and “secondary” palette.
